I’m taking a week off. I do this every year, and yet each time is so full of STRESS just before I go.
So I have to remember my reasons. A while ago, I wrote a guest post for 12Most called The 12 Most Important Reasons To Take Time Off. I still believe in those reasons, but sometimes you have to make it simple. So this year, I’ve come up with one reason.
Life is short.
Our lives are so busy. This July, I celebrate 3 years of business ownership and feel incredible gratitude for where I am right now. I also am thankful everyday for the first world problems I face. Most of all, I’m thankful for my family. Those two little guys who are growing closer to men every day do more for my heart than anything else.
After all the crazy deadlines, childcare juggling, budgetary nailbiting, and self-imposed unachievable standards, it’s time for a break. Whenever I tell people about how I prioritize getting away with the family at this time of year, they react with a predictive sigh. That’s why I’m writing about this again. Because I want YOU to take a break. It’s important. It helps you recharge and reconnect. I have no doubt I’ll be ready to go when I return.
In the meantime, take some time off…it’ll be good for you. I promise.
